In connection with this, my study is about self-presentation strategies of Filipina lesbian bloggers based on the content of their personal blog. What I would like to explore is the phenomenon of blogging among Filipina lesbians. Aside from the fact that literature about lesbians in the Philippines is limited and could be underrepresented, I would like to add some knowledge to this kind of gap by studying Filipina lesbians (a. working professionals b. student) who blog. Basically, the I want to investigate the ways on how Filipina lesbians engage in self-presentation strategies through blogging. Specifically, the objectives include the following: (1) To examine the visual and verbal characteristics of blogs among working professional lesbian bloggers and lesbian student bloggers, including the demographic profile of these bloggers; (2) To identify the main topics posted and discussed by working professional lesbians’ and lesbian students’ blogs; (3) To what extent do the working professional lesbian bloggers and lesbian student bloggers reveal themselves; (4) To explore the reasons why working professional lesbians and lesbian students blog; (5) To compare (if there is any) similarities and differences of working professional lesbians and lesbian student bloggers based on their blog content. In line with this, I wish to analyze the Filipina lesbians’ blog content. Thus, content analysis will be used in this study, and a series of online or offline interview with the Filipina lesbians who wish to participate in this study.
Honestly, I am having a hard time looking for Filipina lesbians who have personal blogs and who are willing to participate in this study. Thus, I ask you permission if you are willing to participate in this study.
